Eco Church
St Saviour’s Sunbury is proud to be registered with Eco Church, an award scheme by A Rocha UK that exists to help churches consider how they are caring for God’s earth in different areas of their life and work. We are taking steps towards reaching a bronze-level award by December 2022.
What are we doing so far?
-
We have set up an Eco Church Working Group (less formally known as the ‘Green Team’) to take a lead in advocating for and creating change.
-
We include ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ top tips in our weekly newsletter.
-
We pray for the climate crisis throughout the year, including midweek prayer meetings and Sunday services.
-
Our food bank uses surplus food from local supermarkets and businesses to help reduce food waste.
How can I get involved?
-
Join the Green Team to play a key role in advocating for and creating change. We have a long way to go, and we need your help! For more information contact info@stsavs.org.
-
Find out how your household is doing at creation care, and how you can improve, by signing up to the Creation Care website and completing the questionnaire (make sure you list ‘St Saviour’s Sunbury’ as your church).
-
Share lifts to church services and events, or better still – walk, cycle, or use public transport.
-
Remember to bring your reusable cup to church with you to avoid using disposable cups.
